We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Maury County Junior Naturalist program, a new initiative designed to foster environmental education and exploration for children in grades K-6th. The program integrates history, culture, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math), and outdoor experiences to provide an immersive learning journey for young nature enthusiasts.
Here's how it works: Visit the Maury County Parks & Recreation Department at 1018 Maury County Park Dr. Columbia, TN 38401, between 80am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, to pick up a Maury County Junior Naturalist workbook. This comprehensive guide will be your Junior Naturalist's companion as they embark on a thrilling adventure through the wonders of nature.
Complete the workbook at whatever pace is desired, engaging in a range of educational activities that will ignite curiosity and deepen connections to the natural world!
Once the workbook has been completed, come back to the Maury County Parks & Recreation Department so that your Junior Naturalist can recite their pledge. We'll celebrate their accomplishment by awarding them with an official Maury County Junior Naturalist badge—a symbol of their commitment to preserving and appreciating our planet and its inhabitants.
