[ARCHIVED] Embark On an Outdoor Reading Adventure

Check out Maury County Park's Storybook Trail! Adults and children alike can enjoy monthly nature-themed stories as they traverse a short, accessible trail.

In 2022, Maury County Parks & Recreation unveiled its new Storybook Trail located on the Nature Trail in Maury County Park. The project presents children’s storybooks on child-height panels along a short trail to promote adult-child interaction around books and nature. Each panel features a reading tip to encourage family engagement by bringing the books to life for children. Books will be rotated monthly, so there is always a new, seasonal story to enjoy.

This project was made possible through a generous partnership with the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation, Imagination Library, Kiwanis of Columbia, Student’s Club, and Dr. Rebecca Hawkins. Additionally, it would not have been possible without the support and heavy lifting of Boy Scout Troop 103.
