[ARCHIVED] Culleoka Community Park

In 2021, the Maury County Health and Environment Committee unanimously approved a move to pursue the purchase of land for a new park in Culleoka. Soon after, capital funding was appropriated to acquire property to develop the Culleoka Community Park.

In 2021, capital funding was appropriated by Maury County to acquire property to develop a community park in the town of Culleoka, Tennessee. The 16-acre plot of undeveloped land, bordering a stream, sits on Mooresville Pike just west of the community’s center near the Culleoka Post Office and Culleoka Unit School.

The park will be developed as a passive community park with walking trails, picnic shelters, and playgrounds – a place for the community to gather, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors. Until now, the residents of Culleoka have had to travel out of town in order to visit a community park. By providing an inclusive and multi-generational space through this new park, we may ensure that the residents of Culleoka reap the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of spending time in nature. The development of this park will provide a critical area for fun, health, learning, and social interaction for the community. Additionally, the new park is located .25-miles from the Culleoka Unit School, providing a valuable place for youth programming, collaboration, and activities.
