Visit the Storybook Trail located along the Nature Trail in Maury County Park for a monthly, seasonal story to enjoy!

Our October story is “Nightsong” by Ari Berk. This breathtaking picture book by award-winning author Ari Berk, illustrated by mega-bestseller Loren Long, is about a young bat setting off into the world using only his good sense! Sense is the song you sing out into the world, and the song the world sings back to you. With these words, Chiro's mother sends him off into the night for the first time alone. It's an adventure, but how will he find his way? And how will he find his way home? As the young bat discovers, navigating the world around him is easy as long as he uses his good sense.

To access the trail: Enter Maury County Park and continue straight on the main park road. Pass the Kids' Kingdom playground on the right, and continue straight up the hill. Halfway up the hill, there is a trailhead with parking on the right.

Our Storybook Trail features storybooks presented on child-height panels, along a short accessible trail to promote adult-child interaction around books and nature in a healthy, outdoor activity. Books are rotated monthly, so there is always a new, seasonal story to enjoy.
