The Trustee's office is responsible for the collection of real and personal property taxes for Maury County.

Delinquent Personal Property Taxes

Payment Options

Property tax notices are mailed in October.  All property taxes are due upon receipt.  Interest will be applied monthly beginning March 1st.  You can make payments with the following options:

Please make sure receipt number(s) or property address(es) are provided with payment.  All checks need to be payable to Maury County Trustee.

Partial Payments

This office accepts partial payments.  Interest applies to all unpaid balances on March 1st.

Trustee Information

  1. The Trustee's office aids qualifying elderly, disabled veterans, disabled veterans’ widows, and disabled taxpayers in the application process in accordance with the state guidelines of the Tennessee Tax Relief Program.
  2. Maury County Taxes are for the calendar year of January 1 through December 31 of the same year. Tax notices are mailed to the property owner of record as of January 1st.  
  3. Payment period for county taxes are from the first Monday of October through the last day of February of the following year.
  4. The Trustee's office accepts post mark dates. The only time postal cancellation is not honored is when delinquent taxes are turned over to Chancery Court on April 1st.
  5. On March 1st, county taxes become delinquent and begin to accrue 1.5 % penalty and interest and increases each month thereafter.
  6. The Maury County Commission sets the property tax rate.
  7. Tennessee law does not require the mailing of tax notices indicating the amount of taxes due. Property owners are presumed to know that taxes are due without personal notification. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the responsibility of payment; nor is it a reason for penalty and interest charges to be waived if the tax bill becomes delinquent.
  8. The Property Assessor’s Office is responsible for appraising the property values on which taxes are assessed.
