Compass

Launched in 2014 with great success, Compass is a court offered mentoring program that is a community-wide initiative. The goal and purpose of Compass is to help juveniles "find direction and purpose." Meetings are a combination of guided individual reflection as well as group discussion and activities. It is a very simple model; the first hour is a meal that encourages fellowship and dialogue and the second hour is educational. Programming focuses on:

  • Compass Mentoring InitiativeCommunity Engagement
  • Conflict Management
  • Decision Making
  • Peer Relationships
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Self-Esteem

A new initiative launched in 2017, a partnership between Compass Mentoring Initiative and Maury County Schools. Two Maury County schools have a program operating during the school day, one time per week. Email Nicolas Abdallah if you would like to refer a child aged 12 to 17 to this program. Email Jeff Kane for program specific information.
