The County Commission serves as the legislative and policy setting body of Maury County. As such, the commission enacts all legislation and authorizes programs and expenditures within Maury County.
The County Mayor, formerly County Executive, is Chief Executive Officer of the county.
This office serves as Clerk of the Maury County Legislative Body which means supplying Commissioners and various department heads with copies of resolutions and minutes of the Court meetings.

The Circuit Court Clerk's office is responsible for maintaining all records in Circuit Court, General Sessions Parts I & II and the Juvenile Court of Maury County. The Circuit Court Clerk's office also issues passports.
The Memorial Building was built in 1907 and 1908 as the Columbia Post Office, with many of the features of that use still evident.
