Home visits are made by public health social workers or nurses to families whose children may be at risk for medical or developmental problems. Those eligible include pregnant women, new moms, and children to age 5. Counseling and education are designed to decrease infant disease and death, increase parenting skills, improve nutritional status, and provide guidance as needed.
