Business Licenses are issued Monday through Friday during the hours fro 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. only.
Anyone opening a new business, which grosses as much as $3,000 annually, should submit a Business License application to the County Clerk’s office along with the fee of $15. The application should be submitted in person or by mail. The application is due within 20 days of the first day of business.

Renewals should be filed with the State of Tennessee. www.tntapinfo.com.
A local business account number must be set up in order for the renewed license to be printed from the clearance files once it is downloaded from the State.
State law exempts certain businesses from licensing and generally include, but are not limited to: doctors, dentists, veterinarians, attorneys, accountants, schools, religious organizations, nonprofit membership organizations, insurance agents, loan companies, security exchanges, and public utilities.
When a business is closed, a final close-out should be filed with the State within 15 days of the last day of business. www.tntapinfo.com
