The Maury County Archives Department's mission is to collect, conserve, and make available to the public the important collection of Maury County's original documents.
This document chronicles the birth of Maury County, Tennessee, when the very first court session was held at Joseph Brown’s cabin on December 21, 1807 (there is an historic marker locating the site on Hwy. 31 South, approximately 3 miles from the Courthouse Square).
