      • In the case of a holiday, meetings will be held on the following Tuesday

Committee Meeting Schedule

Throughout any given month, the County Commission hold various committee meetings. The Maury County Committee meetings are open to the public. These meeting dates and time are published in the local paper and also posted to the County Commissions Calendar.

Agendas are available prior to the meetings. Minutes are available following approval.

Members

The County Commission chooses a Chairman to serve during the 4 year term. Committees are formed with a Chair Person designated for each committee. The Commission has the authority to establish committees whose membership can include non elected members.

Duties

Finances

The single greatest responsibility of the commission is control over the County's finances. Every fiscal year the commission must adopt a budget which appropriates funds to the many departments and agencies of the Maury County Government; and, at the same time, provides sufficient revenue to meet these appropriations. 

Legislation

The County Commission serves as the legislative and policy setting body of Maury County. As such, the commission enacts all legislation and authorizes programs and expenditures within Maury County.

Maury County does not have a lobbyist nor lobbying firm.

The Maury County Commission is open to the public. The public's input is very important to the Board and feedback is encouraged.
